120 hits in the first week! What next?

As you may have noticed from the hit counter, we
had about 60 hits on the first day and since then, about 10 hits a
day, but that is from a bit of word of mouth and a poster at the
club, I am obviously very pleased with this, but what next?
The next step I have taken to increase our
audience has been to subscribe to web search engines and the
Saracens Hertfordshire League website.
I have submitted our Website URL to about 40 web
search engines. It takes up to 4 weeks for these search engines to
add new sites to their searches.
I have tried to search for our club website a few
times since, to see if they have added us yet, but nothing has
turned up so far, apart from other teams news article such as the
debacle against Clarendon last year and another opposition skipper
saying that Des needed glasses! I wouldn't know what he meant.
As a word of warning however, please don't be
tempted to try submitting our site to a search engine yourself, as
more than one submission to a search engine is considered
'spamming', which means our URL would be rejected.
Good news though, I have passed our URL to the
Saracens Hertfordshire League Web Administrator, who has already
added it to his site, so we might get a few hits from other teams
as well now. I'll have to be careful about what I say about our
team now, it might give the game plan away for next year,
especially if we go ahead with a player profiles page!
After these two easy steps comes the sponsorship
poster, which will have our URL and appears in local shops and
business's in the Enfield area, then hopefully, as mentioned at
the AGM, 'Player's Wanted' adverts in the local newspapers,
containing the URL.
What then, who knows, but any suggestions would be
greatly received, please email me (Paul Hewitt) at club@holtwhites-trinibis.co.uk
