Hewitt guides Trinibis home

Totteridge 131-9 HTCC 132 -4
Holtwhites Trinibis came out the victors in this
clash with Totteridge on Saturday, that leaves both teams battling
it out in the middles of the table as the season draws to a close.
Totteridge won the toss and batted first hitting
131 for 9 off 53 overs with the teams top scorer Adam Stolerman
notching up 31.
Holtwhites Jay Shah took three wickets for 33,
while Rohan Watson claimed two wickets for 38 runs, as Totteridge
struggled throughout their innings.
In reply Holtwhites reached 132 for the loss of
just four wickets in 26 overs. Paul Hewitt was the best batsman of
the afternoon with 57 as the Totteridge bowlers tried their best
to keep the damage to a minimum with Simon Poland claiming three
wickets.
But their efforts proved fruitless as Holtwhites
went on to snatch the win and climb two places up the table, while
Totteridge slip three places to tenth.
Holtwhites Trinibis travel to Clarendon on
Saturday.
Report by Enfield Gazette, Thursday August 22nd
2002
In addition to the report by the Enfield Gazette
it must be mentioned that Totteridge at one point
had 60 on the board after 40 overs, such was our dominance. In
fact it was the finest display of bowling we have produced this
year on a Saturday. There was not a bad ball for 40 overs! Wasim
'Omar Sharif' Olam, Buggy, Ahmed and 'Bollywood' Shah all did a
fine job for us. Totteridge managed some late hitting on this hot
day, to end up with 131 for 9 after 53 overs, but this target was
easily dealt with and it proved a good night in the bar! And it
must be said that Totteridge were a sociable bunch in the evening,
which can't be said of many teams in this day and age.
