Watford Town II -an email view from
Tyrone
Young Tyrone Reis, newly promoted to the 2nd XI, emails
his comments on the 2nd XI league win over Watford Town II
'it seems like i only get
to play in the weird games. i believe we lost the
toss and were sent into bat. again the team batted atrociously,
we were a
terrible 89-8, with only 25 overs gone! when me and kojak
went into bat, i was
trying to get my eye in by tapping the ball around make
ones or twos - kojak got annoyed with all the running and
told me stop messing around and hit the ball! the next
ball i hit a four, then a six. kojak started laughing, but
the opposition thought the game was in the bag, they put 5
of their men on the boundary and i was still hitting it
past them! kojak made 27 (driving the ball and getting
boundaries too!) and then unfortunately got bowled. i was
gutted, but we had taken the score onto 159-9 and put on
70 runs in 9 overs -the game was changed completely. the
oppo asked why we didn't go in earlier! (Tyrone scored his
first six for HTCC and achieved his maiden 50, well done
Tyrone! -Ed).
we then went into the field and after three overs i
injured my leg so i couldn't even
run and struggled to walk, so steve (Gerrett) took over
and bowled amazingly - he got 6 wickets. kojak was also
bowling brilliantly - he bowled a man behind his legs
-
brilliant to watch! and he bowled 16 overs for 17 runs and
two wickets, oh yeah, he got 9 maidens, so you could
imagine. we bowled watford town II out for just over 100
and were very pleased, brilliant game! anyway bye'
