3rd XI bowlers bowl tightly to
force victory over Roslyn
Sunday 5 May 2002 v Roslyn Away
Roslyn won toss and inserted H.T. On a very slow wicket and a very lush and wet outfield a score of 165-4 off 45 overs was an excellent effort and was probably worth at least 220-230. A good opening stand between Mark Davis (40) and Steve Fisk (23) gave us a good platform which Stewart Taylor (25) and Qadir Younis (49no) built on to give us a score which was beyond what the opposition expected to chase.
The game was won during the first eighteen overs of Roslyn's reply. The opening bowlers, Tyrone Reis (1-9 off 9) and Steve Gerrett (0-10 off 9) was an unbelievable effort after which Roslyn were always chasing the game and the other bowlers duly cashed in as they were bowled out for 98. H.T. WON BY 67 RUNS. Special mention, Tyrone Reis-Great performance.
