Bournemouth 2004 Summer Tour

After the success of last year’s Summer Tour, I am pleased to announce that the third annual HTCC tour to Bournemouth has been booked and I can confirm the dates of Sunday 25th July to Friday 30th July 2004 (although you are more than welcome to stay the Friday night as well – but please be at the Saturday league game in good time!) and we will be staying at the Hotel Washington, the same hotel as last year.

A quick word on the location, for those who didn't go last year, Bournemouth is only an hour an a half away, which means that it’s not too far if you only wanted to come down for a day or two and Bournemouth itself has something to offer both the tourist who would like to bring his family and the single, party animal!

A brief mention about the accommodation, the Hotel Washington is slightly more comfortable than the traditional Cricket Tour hotel, however, it isn’t a 5 star luxury hotel either. It does have all the basic necessities though, it is clean, it has a family lounge and most importantly, it has flexible bar opening times!

With regards to the Cricket itself, I have arranged four fixtures for the week, starting with Highcliffe (for the third year in a row) on the way down to Bournemouth on the Sunday. On the Monday we will be playing the traditional fixture against another touring team, this one is called Weald (venue to be confirmed). On the Wednesday we have a fixture with a team called New Milton, who are about 17 miles outside Bournemouth, the game will be a ‘20-20 Test Match’, with music, tea and a BBQ (teas and BBQ included for this one!). And finally on the Thursday we will be playing another new team called Ferndown, who are about 10 miles North of Poole.

The cost will be £35 per night per adult, 1/2 price for U14's sharing with parents and free for babies (under 3).This price includes hotel B + B, all ground fees(teas not inc, except New Milton) and with a bit of luck, will cover most of the transport costs, to and from the games.

You need to pay a deposit of £5 per person per night, as soon as possible to book your place and the balance is due the beginning of June. You are more than welcome to spread the cost, by putting small monthly amounts into the club account - if you would like to do that, please speak to Sue Evans.

If there is anything else that you need to know about the tour, give me a call, or email me at club@holtwhites-trinibis.co.uk.

Cheers

Paul Hewitt
