BRSA Enfield's cricket week kicked off with a
match against Enfield Police. The Police rattled up a reasonable
total of 150-9 with Bush top scoring with 26, while Tim Lynch
returned best bowling figures of 4-43 from his 11 overs. After a
bad start losing two wickets for 13 runs, BRSA reached a total of
124-8 with Vince Archer scoring 46.
BRSA went down to the Veterans side by six runs
being bowled out for 138 where Sean Cogman top scored with 29.
Earlier the Vets reached 143-9 with James Parker taking three
wickets for 29.
The third day saw a six a side competition
involving BRSA, Trinibis, North Enfield, and Northampton Exiles.
The top run scorers of the day were Morley 65, Graham 72,
Shrimpton 85 and Bereton 86. In the final North Enfield made 107-5
from their 12 overs with Orten scoring 56. But the BRSA were
skittled out for 99 with Terry Welsh hitting 57.
The final game of the week was on Thursday
against a President's XI who amassed a total of 148-9, with
Heathfield scoring 43 and Veillard 38. Tim Lynch took four wickets
for 14 runs from his 9 overs. The BRSA once again fell short of
the total reaching 139-8 with Paul Hewitt scoring 38, Vince Archer
31 and Sean Cogman hitting an unbeaten 25. Mike Bigby, a BRSA
regular playing for the President's side took seven wickets
for 55 runs from his 19 overs.
